Managing a high-volume industrial laundry across multiple sites means that every system, process, and decision has to work together. For County Linen, building that level of control required more than a capable software platform. It required a partner willing to grow alongside the business.

Since 2017, ABS has been at the centre of County Linen’s operation, connecting production, customer management, invoicing, and reporting into a single, integrated environment. Jimmy Jorge, IT & Compliance Manager, explains how that partnership has shaped the way the business runs today and where it is headed next.

From Legacy System to Central Platform

County Linen moved to ABS in 2017, replacing a legacy system that could no longer support the scale and complexity of the operation. The goal was clear: bring production, customer management, and invoicing together into one structured platform.

“We were looking for a solution that could support our operational requirements while giving us the flexibility to build around it as the business evolved,” says Jimmy. “ABS stood out because it could do both.”

Since implementation, ABS has become central to County Linen’s infrastructure, underpinning the majority of core workflows and data management across the business.

Visibility Across the Operation

One of the most significant improvements has been visibility at every level of the business. Production teams can see exactly what needs to be processed and how it aligns with delivery requirements, allowing them to plan more effectively and respond quickly to changes throughout the day.

At management level, the Business Intelligence module forms part of County Linen’s core dashboards, supporting decision making across both operational and senior levels.

“Having accurate, timely data in one place changes how you manage the business,” says Jimmy. “It supports performance monitoring, issue identification, and continuous improvement in a way that wasn’t possible before.”

County Linen has also extended this visibility to its customers. Through the ABS web portal and bespoke reporting delivered via the Business Intelligence module, customers receive structured and transparent data about their accounts. “Giving customers clear, reliable information strengthens the relationship,” Jimmy adds. “It builds trust and supports more informed conversations.”

RFID and Production Control

Following the move to RFID tracking, County Linen introduced the Linen and Garment Assistant applications to strengthen control across the production process. Items are now tracked more accurately throughout their lifecycle, reducing errors and improving consistency across departments.

“The level of traceability RFID gives you is significant,” says Jimmy. “It means the data inside ABS reflects what is actually happening on the floor, which matters when you need to resolve a query or report on performance.”

Connected Ecosystem

ABS sits at the centre of a wider ecosystem of systems that support both internal operations and customer interaction. Integrations with customer portals, CRM tools, and reporting platforms allow data to move across the business without repeated manual input, improving efficiency and consistency.

“What sets ABS apart is its role as a core operational platform,” says Jimmy. “It allows us to build an integrated environment where systems work together rather than in isolation. That connectivity is what makes the difference.”

Security is equally central to how County Linen evaluates its systems. Having recently achieved Cyber Essentials Plus certification, the business holds all platforms to a high standard. “ABS provides a stable and secure foundation that aligns with our wider security requirements and internal controls,” Jimmy explains.

Support and Ongoing Development

System upgrades in a live operational environment are never straightforward. Jimmy acknowledges that the process has matured significantly over time. “The support from ABS has improved considerably,” he says. “That gives us the confidence to keep evolving the system without disrupting the operation.”

County Linen is currently trialling ABSSolute Infinity, the new version of the platform. “The updated interface represents a significant step forward,” says Jimmy. “We are looking forward to seeing how it supports adoption across the business.”

Looking Ahead

The direction for County Linen is clear: more automation, deeper integration, and smarter tools that can anticipate demand and support real-time decisions.

“There is real potential to move towards more predictive, AI-driven processes,” says Jimmy. “ABS gives us a strong foundation to build on, and that is exactly what we plan to do.”
