ABS at the ETSA Congress 2026 in Amsterdam

On 11 and 12 June 2026, ABS Laundry Business Solutions CEO Marien van Bezooijen attended the ETSA Congress 2026 in Amsterdam. Organised by the European Textile Services Association, the two day event brought together senior executives, policymakers, and industry experts from across the continent to discuss the challenges shaping the sector’s future.

Two Days of Industry Discussion

The congress opened on Thursday with a networking lunch before moving into a full programme of keynotes and panel discussions. The agenda covered energy transformation and the road to climate neutrality by 2050, European competitiveness, sustainability and circularity, and attracting new talent to the industry.

Former Portuguese Deputy Prime Minister Paulo Portas opened with a keynote on the new world order and its implications for the textile services value chain. Marije Slump, Senior Policy Officer for the Circular Economy at the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, followed with a look at the current legislative landscape. Panel discussions brought together voices from JENSEN Group, Kannegiesser, Ecolab, TRSA, Lindström, and others.

Thursday evening closed with the ETSA Awards Ceremony and a Gala Dinner at the Tobacco Theatre in central Amsterdam.

Friday continued with presentations on the ETSA Climate Pact, a panel on waste sorting and recycling policy, and a closing keynote from the Swiss Future Institute on artificial intelligence and the laundry of tomorrow.

Being Present at the Right Table

For Marien, the congress was an opportunity to engage directly with senior operators and decision makers from across Europe, hear where the industry is heading, and represent ABS in a room where the conversations that shape the sector take place.
