Somewhere on the sorting line, a worn towel or frayed sheet reaches the end of its life in the pool. In the industry this moment is called ragging, a term dating back to when worn out linen was cut up for reuse as rags. Every item that leaves the pool affects stock levels, replacement planning and the financial records of an industrial laundry.
Rag Pool Scan is the screen used for exactly that moment. It records why an item leaves the pool, so stock levels and financial records stay accurate. With ABSSolute version 9.10.02, this familiar process moves to ABSSolute Infinity in a simpler, guided form.
One screen for every situation. ABSSolute version 9 uses separate rag pool screens: one for a single item and another for a batch scanned with a UHF reader. ABSSolute Infinity brings both together in a single Rag Pool Scan screen, which adjusts automatically to whichever scanner is connected.
A fixed order, no steps skipped. A guided flow starts with the Rag Reason and Reason Code. Only then does the process move on to scanning. This way, a reason is always registered before an item leaves the pool.
Clear answers when a scanner is not ready. If a scanner is not set up correctly, a clear message appears instead of a technical error. Manual entry is always available as a fallback.
When every rag is recorded with a reason, laundries get stock figures that match what is actually in circulation, financial records they can rely on, and clear insight into why linen leaves the pool. Because there is one screen and one fixed order, employees spend less time on the process and new staff learn it faster.
“One screen means employees no longer need to remember which dialog to use. A fixed order always starts with the Rag Reason. That keeps pool records accurate and cuts training time for new staff.”
And that's just the beginning!
