On 1 October 2026, ABS Laundry Business Solutions took part in INTERCLEAN, the annual Czech conference for professional laundry, cleaning and textile rental. The 29th edition, organised by the Czech Association of Laundries and Dry Cleaners (APaČ), welcomed more than 200 participants at the Stages Hotel in Prague.
Robert Tye, CCO at ABS Laundry Business Solutions, represented ABS at the event. Throughout the day he met with laundry professionals, exchanged ideas with industry partners and followed a programme full of relevant insights for the sector.
This year the programme centred on the future of the Czech market, sustainability, energy savings, technological innovation and care for employees. One of the highlights was the presentation of the largest market study on textile care ever carried out in the Czech Republic, based on 693 respondents from consumers, laundries, dry cleaners and business customers.
APaČ also introduced a calculator for the carbon footprint and water consumption of laundries, developed together with Brno University of Technology. The aim is a uniform calculation method and, over time, anonymous benchmarking between companies. In addition, the first results were shared of an anonymous helpline for employees of member companies, which registered 107 requests for support in its first six months.
The exhibition area was the largest in the recent history of the conference, with 18 stands from 16 companies. ABS was present as an exhibitor alongside companies such as Christeyns, Miele, Primus, Lapauw and Alsico. ABS is also listed among the partners of the association, a connection that reflects a long term commitment to the Czech laundry sector.
For ABS, the day offered plenty to learn. The market research, the focus on sustainability and the attention for employee wellbeing gave a clear picture of the challenges and opportunities that laundries in the region are facing. These insights help ABS continue to shape software that fits the daily reality of laundry operations.
Beyond the content, INTERCLEAN was simply an enjoyable event. The open and friendly atmosphere made it easy to catch up with existing contacts, meet new people and have meaningful conversations about the future of the industry.
Laundries and textile service companies in Central and Eastern Europe are an important part of the ABS community, and events like this one are a valuable way to stay close to these markets, understand local needs and strengthen relationships across the region.
The 30th anniversary edition of INTERCLEAN is planned for 7 October 2027 at the OREA Congress Hotel in Brno, the city where the conference first began. ABS looks forward to returning and continuing the conversation with the Czech and wider Central European laundry community.
