Combined ERP, Sorting System, Robotic and AGV Solution:
In 2023, a collaboration between ABS, Rentex, Movexx, Jensen Group, and DBM Industrial resulted in the successful implementation of a seamless garment sorting and robotic packing solution at Rentex, a leading laundry service in the Netherlands. Specializing in healthcare textiles, Rentex processes around 250,000 garments weekly in its workwear department. To enhance efficiency and improve employee ergonomics, Rentex partnered with four innovative companies. Movexx provided smart electric tugs to transport heavy materials, while DBM Industrial designed and built the robotic installations. Jensen Group supplied the laundry equipment, and ABS integrated the ABSSolute ERP software system as the core data source.
ABS held critical customer and wearer garment details, along with sorting criteria, which were shared with the smart equipment to ensure garments were handled and directed correctly throughout the process. The only human interaction in this automated system was to add the delivery note to the packed products at the end of the process. The collaboration led to the introduction of automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and a robot arm, significantly optimizing garment sorting and packing, boosting both productivity and workplace ergonomics.
